Mary Whitney began working with clay at an early age, and it has been a lifelong journey of learning and discovery. Her beautiful work reflects both a deep passion for and a playful relationship with clay. Her pieces have been exhibited in galleries and private collections throughout Oklahoma. “Creating with clay quiets the mind and brings moments of peace in turbulent times,” she says. “The message I hope to share through this year’s festival pin is that even the littlest star can light the way." Mary is currently a resident artist and instructor at Red Heat Ceramic Art Studio. “I am forever grateful for Red Heat,” she shares. “We are a community of people who encourage and inspire one another, and we celebrate each other’s successes.”
