Philbrook History + Collections

In 1927 the Italian Renaissance villa was completed on 25 acres for oilman Waite Phillips, by Kansas City architect Edward Buehler Delk. In 1938 Waite Phillips surprised Tulsans with the announcement of his gift of the mansion and surrounding 23 acres  as an art center for the city of Tulsa.
